Baby Shower, Maternity Pictures & Weeks 32, 33, 34 & 35

Goodness, how has it been almost a month since I've updated this, yikes!  This Friday is the 1 month mark and as of today I have 24 working days left, wooza!!!

Last weekend we got outside and took some maternity pictures at Cathedral Park, they came back so wonderful!  I'm including a couple to enjoy.  Both boys did so great and Killian was LOVING directing the different shots.  He is so creative and our little ham.  I got some seriously forever shots that I will cherish all my days. It is going to be incredibly hard to pick which ones to print.

This weekend my mom and sister came up to Portland to help celebrate the pending arrival of new baby.  We had spa treatments, stayed the night at a gorgeous resort and had brunch with a small group of ladies.  It was just absolutely perfect for this third time Mama to be.  I don't need a ton of things for this time around but having those dear to me close at hand to celebrate and have some good laughs was priceless.  Both boys have picked out what gifts they would like baby to bring them upon arrival (Lochlan wants a robot and Killian wants a car you pull back and it goes forward quickly).  Now we just have to agree on what to get baby as a welcome to the family gift.

Now I feel like I can get down to business and prep for this little one's arrival. The list hasn't grown but not too much has been marked off; I plan to change that this weekend!

My big goals right now are as follows:

1. finish organizing baby clothes
2. wash and pull out everything baby (car seats, sleepers, boppies, bottles, etc.)
3. look at registry to start ordering essentials #3 Amazon List
4. deep clean nursery and raise the crib mattress
5. get new car seat(s) for Lochlan pending Target trade in event
6. pack my bag for the hospital
7. workout details of care after baby/emergency pickups with daycare
8. continue the name game with Kyle, big brothers aren't being as "helpful" with names as we hoped but we will get there ;-)

My mom and sister got to go with us to a few big boy activities while they were here and boy oh boy did we have a blast.  It was such a fun mix of just normal things and baby celebration.  One of the highlights was Killian's basketball class, he showed off his skills by dribbling a ball in each hand at the same time.  Needless to say, we were all so impressed!  Big thank you to Kyle and Mychal for watching the big kids while we escaped for some girl time.

Also this is the first time that my sister and I haven't been expecting at the same time, which is odd but fun in its own right.  So of course when you are a giant belly and she doesn't, you have her put a basketball under her shirt and take a picture for ol' times sake, HA!

Got to take my mom to my regular Dr. appointment yesterday.  My Dr. was on call for the hospital and had to run out before we got there, so I saw a lovely midwife this time around.  My next appointment isn't until the 23rd but it will be here before I know it, that marks the first of my weekly visits.  All was right on track yesterday, good heartbeat and head is down (not that it matters with the c-section) but interesting to hear that it is in the same orientation as Mr. Killian.  I must just grow babies a little sideways.

Killian has started a tennis class on Sunday mornings and seems to be loving it!  Both boys finish out their current session of swim classes this Sunday evening, they are both little fishes.  Lochlan will start gymnastics in May and Killian is waiting to start T-ball practices next week.  Busy little creatures but we love it! Lochlan is transitioning to the pre-school class at school and he is absolutely thrilled about it.  We got their spring pictures back and I just couldn't stand having to pick just a few shots, they all turned out so amazing.

Enjoy the pictures and can't wait to provide more updates as fun things start ticking off my list.  Love to all.

Lochlan snuggling with baby, he is so gentle and excited for the arrival.

Killian got a hand me down batting helmet and he is in love, he basically sleeps in it.

Lochlan's transition to preschool picture.  He is SUCH a big boy these days.

2 MONTHS!!!! (29, 30 & 31 week pictures)

Today marks the 2 months until c-section day...April 13th.  We've been cruising along, last baby appointment was on Monday, heartbeat was strong and regular.  I'm on the 2 week cycle now so another check in on 2/24.

The big boys are doing great with their combined room and we are getting into the groove of new bedtime and wake-up time routines.  Lochlan has been super confused going to bed and isn't quite convinced about this sleep downstairs idea, he has a pretty good setup upstairs.  BUT he is so proud of himself each morning when he wakes up in his big boy bed.  AunDee made him a new sheet and pillowcase for his bed to match brothers, so that is a happy upgrade for him.  I got Killian's red dresser painted and moved into their room, he loves it!  I'm going to try and put some contact paper on the back side side some of it is visible over the love seat but other than that their room is ready to rock and roll.

I've started trying to organize and then clean the tiny baby clothes.  Such a mountain of onsies!!!  But with 2 months to go I feel confident it will be in a good spot when new one arrives.  I want to give the nursery room a deep cleaning and then a slight makeover to make it personalized for this baby.  I'm going with vintage/baby animal circus theme.  Still using the primary colors and bright and happy.

Not a horrible list but I'm sure it is not all inclusive.  There are PLENTY of other projects that I need/want to get done before little one arrives but prioritization needs my attention, in other words, an after baby to do list is already forming in my head. (travel plans, room makeovers, physical fitness journey, meal planning/prepping, etc.) it never ends in this brain of mine.

For now, here are some updated bump pictures and some current pictures of the big boys.

Not too much bigger than the other 2...right?!?!?

Memories and Milestones

I got a reminder this morning that 4 years ago today Killian started WALKING!  Crazy how time flies and I am beyond grateful that I have the technology to help me remember milestones like this one.  Our sweet first baby boy is getting so big, Kyle and I looked at him last night at the dinner table and barely recognized the skinny kid that was having a conversation with us.  Here is his video of his first steps...love that little squishy guy!

I also hit the under 50 working day milestone this week, WAHOOO!!!!  I still have a couple months total before D-Day but 49 working days left...crazy to think about.

Baby #3 25, 26, 27 & 28 Plus Big Boy Updates

Wowee, it has been a little while since I've posted.  Guess that's what happens when you have two young kids, a puppy, an active social calendar and you are expecting #3, HA!

So weeks 25-28 have FLOWN by!  I've entered my 3rd trimester and did the calendar count down of working days yesterday (today = 54 more work days, CRAP!!) and my app says 80 days until c-section day, WHOA!  Overall I've been feeling great this time around, I've continued to exercise as much as life will allow me and I feel so much better when I do!  Sleeping is still going well when the other munchkins and dog aren't requiring my attention.  We head to Kyle's work holiday gathering tomorrow night, it is a masquerade theme, have a couple masks for us but not exactly sure what I want to squeeze myself into :-)  Hopefully we get to go as Killian is home sick today with possible Croup.  C-section is still scheduled for April 13th which means last work day is April 10th unless of course my plans get changed for me.  This wee baby is super active, not that the others weren't but the placement and orientation of things are so different that I feel this one WAY more than the other two.  Night time is the most active time and it sure feels like a tiny alien is going to rip through my belly at any moment.

The name game continues around our household.  The boys names are always entertaining.  Their cousins came over this past weekend and they had a couple good ones too, things like ninja and dolly, makes me laugh.  I definitely have some front runners and I believe Kyle is on board with all those, it will just come down to 1. do we find another one we like even better and 2. waiting until the day arrives to make that final selection.

I go in on Monday for my glucose test and a normal check up.  After that I believe I do one more monthly check up and then roll into every two weeks!  Can't believe that is where we are at already.  Trying to slow down and remember to savor everything as this will be the last time for all of this process.  It is so much fun watching the boys experience the anticipation and the growing knowledge of what is coming for our family.  Killian is taking so much pride in knowing he not only gets to be a big brother again but he gets to help Lochlan learn that role too.  Both of the little fellas are growing into such great people and I just can't get over how lucky we are.

Speaking of the big boys, Killian is home with Kyle today as he isn't feeling well with a high temp and a yucky cough.  He is getting in some good sleep so hopefully he turns around quickly and doesn't pass it on to his little bro.  Killian is in the kindergarten class at his school these days and seems to be enjoying the no nap part of his world.  He does an incredible amount of crafts at school and is always coming home with some little trinket or art creation.  Killian has started an hour long basketball skills and scrimmages class on Saturday morning, he is really enjoying that.  Last week was the second class and he graduated to dribbling with the big ball....proud mama right here :-D  He continues to be one of the best listeners in class and is very kind and helpful to his fellow ballers.  After b-ball we hustle down to a different gym and he has a rock climbing class. That kiddo is fearless and I have to continually remind him that there is a limit he can climb up before he needs a spotter.  Truly a man after my own heart!  He never ceases to amaze me with the kindness and patience he shows toward Lochlan and other kids at his school.  He helps Lochlan learn new things an shares with him.  We are all still learning the use extra patience when things start going south but we are growing and getting there together.  I can't say it enough how proud we are of him and can't believe that just next month we are going to a Kindergarten connection night at our neighborhood school.  This day felt so far away for so long and now it is here!!!  Continue to look forward to exploring the world with my big-little buddy and watching him discover the world through his eyes.

Lochlan, oh Lochlan, where so I even start with this little man.  He so completely different from his brother but looks to Killian for guidance and mentor-ship daily.  Lochlan continues to prefer his left hand, which is so cool to me, he seems to naturally be distinguishing himself and carving a special place in our family. Lochlan is much more of our listener and hesitant little fella.  Don't get me wrong, he goes for it but after he has learned about it and understood what to do first, whereas brother just goes for it and asks questions later.  Lochlan LOVES routines, he knows our morning routine for teeth and vitamins, our pickup snack routine and our bedtime books and snuggle routine.  He continues to love on his "nan-ny" (a cozy soft blanket with owls on it), he wraps himself up in it at night and is very put off if we try to use another blanket.  We have started to get him used to his big boy bed in the downstairs bedroom with Killian.  We've been doing small timed intervals in that bed at night before heading upstairs for our regular bedtime routine.  I think our next step will be waiting for him to be asleep one night and move him to the other bed.  See how that works ;-)  Like I said he is very much a creature of habit, so this could be a long process.  Lochlan has started a soccer class on Saturday mornings, most of the time Kyle participates with him and I get to watch the cuteness.  I think Kyle likes this one on one time with Lochlan and it doesn't happen too often where brother isn't crowding into the games too.  Lochlan is in the toddler II class at school and it won't be long until he transitions to the pre-school room.  He is such a helper at school, loves to clean up and help in the "bawby" room.  My heart continues to be drawn toward this little man and his deep love for his family.  Our connection continues to grow and I can't wait to watch him as a big brother.

Sorry this has been a long one but it has been a while.  Enjoy the rest of January, 1/12 of the way done with 2020 already, whoazer.  This year promises to be a good one for our family and I can't wait to share all of the adventures with everyone.

Cheers and best wishes to all :-)
