Memories and Milestones
I got a reminder this morning that 4 years ago today Killian started WALKING! Crazy how time flies and I am beyond grateful that I have the technology to help me remember milestones like this one. Our sweet first baby boy is getting so big, Kyle and I looked at him last night at the dinner table and barely recognized the skinny kid that was having a conversation with us. Here is his video of his first steps...love that little squishy guy!

Baby #3 25, 26, 27 & 28 Plus Big Boy Updates
Wowee, it has been a little while since I've posted. Guess that's what happens when you have two young kids, a puppy, an active social calendar and you are expecting #3, HA!
So weeks 25-28 have FLOWN by! I've entered my 3rd trimester and did the calendar count down of working days yesterday (today = 54 more work days, CRAP!!) and my app says 80 days until c-section day, WHOA! Overall I've been feeling great this time around, I've continued to exercise as much as life will allow me and I feel so much better when I do! Sleeping is still going well when the other munchkins and dog aren't requiring my attention. We head to Kyle's work holiday gathering tomorrow night, it is a masquerade theme, have a couple masks for us but not exactly sure what I want to squeeze myself into :-) Hopefully we get to go as Killian is home sick today with possible Croup. C-section is still scheduled for April 13th which means last work day is April 10th unless of course my plans get changed for me. This wee baby is super active, not that the others weren't but the placement and orientation of things are so different that I feel this one WAY more than the other two. Night time is the most active time and it sure feels like a tiny alien is going to rip through my belly at any moment.
The name game continues around our household. The boys names are always entertaining. Their cousins came over this past weekend and they had a couple good ones too, things like ninja and dolly, makes me laugh. I definitely have some front runners and I believe Kyle is on board with all those, it will just come down to 1. do we find another one we like even better and 2. waiting until the day arrives to make that final selection.
I go in on Monday for my glucose test and a normal check up. After that I believe I do one more monthly check up and then roll into every two weeks! Can't believe that is where we are at already. Trying to slow down and remember to savor everything as this will be the last time for all of this process. It is so much fun watching the boys experience the anticipation and the growing knowledge of what is coming for our family. Killian is taking so much pride in knowing he not only gets to be a big brother again but he gets to help Lochlan learn that role too. Both of the little fellas are growing into such great people and I just can't get over how lucky we are.
Speaking of the big boys, Killian is home with Kyle today as he isn't feeling well with a high temp and a yucky cough. He is getting in some good sleep so hopefully he turns around quickly and doesn't pass it on to his little bro. Killian is in the kindergarten class at his school these days and seems to be enjoying the no nap part of his world. He does an incredible amount of crafts at school and is always coming home with some little trinket or art creation. Killian has started an hour long basketball skills and scrimmages class on Saturday morning, he is really enjoying that. Last week was the second class and he graduated to dribbling with the big ball....proud mama right here :-D He continues to be one of the best listeners in class and is very kind and helpful to his fellow ballers. After b-ball we hustle down to a different gym and he has a rock climbing class. That kiddo is fearless and I have to continually remind him that there is a limit he can climb up before he needs a spotter. Truly a man after my own heart! He never ceases to amaze me with the kindness and patience he shows toward Lochlan and other kids at his school. He helps Lochlan learn new things an shares with him. We are all still learning the use extra patience when things start going south but we are growing and getting there together. I can't say it enough how proud we are of him and can't believe that just next month we are going to a Kindergarten connection night at our neighborhood school. This day felt so far away for so long and now it is here!!! Continue to look forward to exploring the world with my big-little buddy and watching him discover the world through his eyes.
Lochlan, oh Lochlan, where so I even start with this little man. He so completely different from his brother but looks to Killian for guidance and mentor-ship daily. Lochlan continues to prefer his left hand, which is so cool to me, he seems to naturally be distinguishing himself and carving a special place in our family. Lochlan is much more of our listener and hesitant little fella. Don't get me wrong, he goes for it but after he has learned about it and understood what to do first, whereas brother just goes for it and asks questions later. Lochlan LOVES routines, he knows our morning routine for teeth and vitamins, our pickup snack routine and our bedtime books and snuggle routine. He continues to love on his "nan-ny" (a cozy soft blanket with owls on it), he wraps himself up in it at night and is very put off if we try to use another blanket. We have started to get him used to his big boy bed in the downstairs bedroom with Killian. We've been doing small timed intervals in that bed at night before heading upstairs for our regular bedtime routine. I think our next step will be waiting for him to be asleep one night and move him to the other bed. See how that works ;-) Like I said he is very much a creature of habit, so this could be a long process. Lochlan has started a soccer class on Saturday mornings, most of the time Kyle participates with him and I get to watch the cuteness. I think Kyle likes this one on one time with Lochlan and it doesn't happen too often where brother isn't crowding into the games too. Lochlan is in the toddler II class at school and it won't be long until he transitions to the pre-school room. He is such a helper at school, loves to clean up and help in the "bawby" room. My heart continues to be drawn toward this little man and his deep love for his family. Our connection continues to grow and I can't wait to watch him as a big brother.
Sorry this has been a long one but it has been a while. Enjoy the rest of January, 1/12 of the way done with 2020 already, whoazer. This year promises to be a good one for our family and I can't wait to share all of the adventures with everyone.
Cheers and best wishes to all :-)
